About the Carers UK Awards

The inaugural Carers UK Awards is a spectacular and celebratory event and an opportunity to honour the contribution that individual carers make, as well as celebrate organisations that have gone above and beyond in creating carer friendly workplaces.

The event will take place on 16 October at the prestigious Plaisterers’ Hall in London.

When do the nominations open and close?

Nominations are open from Tuesday 29 April, 9am until Friday 27 June, 5pm.

 

Eligibility for the awards

Adults over the age of 18 can put forward a nomination for an award and must reside in the UK.

If you are nominating someone else for an award they must also be over the age of 18 and reside in the UK.

If you are applying for an award on behalf of an organisation, the organisation must have a permanent presence in the UK.

Nominations sent after Friday 27 June, 5pm will not be considered.

There is no restriction on the number of nominations that can be submitted by a nominator in any category.

Carers UK staff are not eligible to nominate for and of the Carers UK Awards.

Applying for an award

Visit the main Carers UK Awards page, where you’ll find details of each category and the nomination criteria.
There will be a link to the online nomination form where you can simply fill in the details and submit. 

When providing a nomination for the following awards, you may also submit a video of no more than 30 seconds to support your nomination. Videos must be recorded on a smartphone device and emailed to awards@carersuk.org

  • Inspiring Leader

 

What will the entry form consist of?

Nominations must be completed in full providing the following details:

  • The nominator’s name, email address and mobile number.
  • If you are nominating someone else or on behalf of an organisation, you will need to provide this information also.
  • No more than 500 words about why you are sending a nomination for an award.

Please ensure the information you provide is a true and accurate summary of the nominee. If you are nominating someone else for an award, please ensure that your nominee is aware of the nomination and has given consent for the details within the nomination.

 

What happens next?

  1. Once the nominations have closed on Friday 27 June, a Carers UK internal panel will screen the nominations to provide a shortlist to the judges.
  2. Nominators will be notified via email whether their submission has progressed to the judges stage.
  3. The judges will consider the shortlisted nominations and provide their verdict.
  4. Finalists will be notified via email and invited to the awards ceremony.

Carers UK takes the protection of your data very seriously and the collection of data from Carers UK award nominations is in line with the Carers UK privacy notice.

We may also collect and store information provided by you about a third party. This is in line with the Carers UK privacy notice.

Should any nominee wish to be withdrawn from the nomination process, they are able to do so at any time. Notification must be received in writing via email to awards@carersuk.org
