The Chancellor gave his Budget 2021 statement on 3rd March 2021.

This briefing sets out the most relevant announcements from the Budget for carers.

No additional funding for adult social care was announced. We are deeply disappointed that unpaid carers, who have been under enormous pressure and who have provided increased level of care throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, will have to continue to wait for reform of, and investment in, social care.

We are also deeply disappointed that the Government decided not to introduce a £20 a week supplement to those entitled to Carer’s Allowance, meaning many carers who are struggling to just make ends meet will continue to face significant financial hardship.
