This resource has been created by Carers UK in collaboration with NHS England as part of our work with the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Health and Wellbeing Alliance (HWA), where we work alongside Carers Trust to form the Carers Partnership. It provides local organisations and unpaid carers who want to engage with local healthcare systems with an overview of:
-
Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), Integrated Care Partnerships (ICPs) and Integrated Care Systems (ICSs).
- How these organisations fit with other local structures.
-
How Joint Strategic Needs Assessments fit in with carers.
-
How the Voluntary and Community Sector feeds into ICSs.
-
What their legal responsibilities are in relation to engagement of unpaid carers.
-
What your expectations should be about unpaid carers locally.
- How to find out where your ICB is.
-
What you should expect from an Integrated Care Strategy in relation to unpaid carers.
-
Questions for local carers organisations and local carers to ask.
-
Useful resources.
