When you take part in one of these bucket list activities, you'll be making a huge difference. Your courage and willingness to take on a challenge can inspire others to support and advocate for unpaid carers across the UK.

By sharing your journey and fundraising efforts, you could even encourage friends, family, and colleagues to support the cause or even join you!

Every jump, dive, and walk will help raise money and awareness to make life better for carers.

Skydives

When: Saturday 5 October 2024

Registration fee: £37.50

Your fundraising target: £395*

*All airfields except those in Ireland, Scotland, and Maidstone where the target is £450.

Essential information

  • Skydives are in tandem meaning you will be attached to an instructor throughout
  • Your sponsorship target must be met in full at least own week before your jump or you may be required to pay for your skydive on the day
  • Minimum age is 16 years, if you are under 18 years old you will need permission from a parent or guardian
  • Weight limits vary between airfields, click here and click on a location to see details of weight limits at each airfield
  • A signed medical self-declaration Form 115A must be taken to the airfield on the day of your jump. If you have any of the medical conditions listed on Form 115A, then you must get Form 115B signed by a doctor
  • Bad weather may affect your jump, the airfield may need to rearrange your skydive to another date if bad weather is forecast
  • Your deposit is non-refundable. You have until 4 weeks before your jump to reschedule for free. If you need to cancel, please contact myskydive@skylineevents.co.uk
  • If you cancel or reschedule within four weeks of your jump there is a £50 cancellation fee.

If you cancel or reschedule within seven working days of your jump there is a £100 cancellation fee.

 

 

Wing walks

When: Various dates available

Registration fee: £50

Your fundraising target: £1,000

Join #TeamCarers to complete this unique challenge and an exhilarating experience like no other! Stand on the wings of a biplane as it soars through the sky. Securely harnessed in, feel the rush of the wind and the incredible sensation of being completely exposed to the elements.

Take in the panoramic views of the landscape below. This is an adventure that pushes the boundaries of what you thought possible and leaving a memory to last a lifetime!

Our wing walks are in partnership with Life Changing Challenges giving you four locations across the UK to choose from.

  • Cirencester, Gloucestershire
  • Henstridge, Somerset
  • Headcorn, Kent
  • Wickenby, Lincolnshire

Various dates are available from Spring through to Autumn! Sign up and raise £1,000 which covers the cost of your wing walk and includes fundraising for Carers UK.

Essential information

  • Minimum age 18 and maximum age 80
  • Weight limits can vary depending on airfield please check with your chosen location
  • A declaration of fitness to be signed please email fundraising@carersuk.org to find out more on medical criteria
  • Wing walk challenge is weather dependent
  • 100% of the minimum sponsorship must be raised no later than eight weeks prior to your challenge date.

 

 

Bungee jumps

Are you ready to take the plunge for Carers UK? What better white-knuckle way to support our cause? Every jump raises funds and all-important awareness for unpaid carers across the UK. Your leap of faith will make such a difference to those we support.

Freefall through the air and enjoy not just the surge of excitement but a sense of accomplishment too!

Depending on the location your jump will be from either a fixed structure or crane at around 160ft - all with a view to remember. Partnered with Run For Charity and UK Bungee Jump you have 14 different locations to choose from, see below!

Essential information

  • You must seek professional medical advice before jumping and sign a non-standard waiver if certain medical conditions apply see here
  • Maximum weight limit for a solo jumper is 120kg (18.9 stone)
  • Waist harnesses fit waist size of 40cm (15.7 inches) to 125cm (49.2 inches)
  • Minimum age is 14 and (14 to 16 year olds require a parent or guardians’ permission and signature)
  • Extreme weather conditions may affect this experience, mainly high winds, and thunderstorms. Do check the event information page before your scheduled jump.
