“There’s a time in everybody’s life when there’s a realisation that something’s got to change and I think that was the day I thought I’ve got to do something, what shall I do?”
After realising he wasn’t as fit as he would like to be a few years ago, Paul decided he wanted to make a change to support his own health as well as help him manage the tasks he does as a carer. Paul tried a few activities including circuit training and swimming before joining a running club 6 years ago.
“The social side ie talking to someone when you’re running is very therapeutic as well”
His running club is a social community and although their activities paused during the pandemic, he is looking forward to getting back to their regular runs. The schedule of the club makes it easier to fit around caring and he enjoys taking part in runs a few times a week.
