Fundraising top tips

Here are our top tips to help you aim high and host an incredible fundraising event:

Whether you have a plan or need inspiration, planning early is key!

Our team would love to support you with your fundraising and make sure you have everything you need, from ideas and tips to keeping it safe and legal. So don’t forget to get in contact and tell us about your fundraising in support of Carers UK.

Setting up your JustGiving page takes a few minutes, just click on fundraise for us to get started.

Set yourself something to aim for and let the world know.

Why do you want to support Carers UK? Tell your story about why you are fundraising to make life better for carers.

By kicking off your fundraising with a self-donation, you are sharing that you are committed to the cause and this sets the bar for the following donations.

Social media and email are often the best ways to let your friends, families, colleagues and local community know that you are raising money to make life better for carers. Keep them updated with photos and videos in the lead up to and after your event. Remember to tag us in your photos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Never underestimate the power of local newspapers and radios to share your fundraising.

Sometimes your supporters need a friendly reminder to donate. Don’t be afraid to ask after you’ve completed your event, almost 20% of donations come in after the event is over!

Don’t forget to thank everyone who helped you with your event and donated.
