We are living through an unprecedented time, with increasing inflation and the cost of energy, food, fuel, and basic commodities all rising at the same time. Unpaid carers have been among the groups hardest hit by the cost-of-living crisis in Scotland.
This report draws from State of Caring 2022 carried out by Carers Scotland with more than 2000 carers taking part. This report tells of the significant - and increasing - struggles that carers face to meet ends meet; with increasing costs, limited incomes and few, if any, options to increase financial security. The report is interspersed this report with the voices of carers. We thank them for telling their stories and sharing their concerns.
