Caring for someone can be rewarding — but at times, it can also be overwhelming. If you're an unpaid carer, it's easy to feel like you're facing it all on your own. This friendly online session is here to help.
Developed and presented with the help of Chris, a Carers Wales volunteer and former unpaid carer who truly understands the journey, this session will guide you through the support that's available — so you don't have to figure it out by yourself. Because every carer deserves a little support too.

Tip Girls of Wales: The Women of Welsh Coalmining
Join us for this historical talk with Norena Shopland and uncover the forgotten history of the Tip Girls of Wales.
They were called 'unsexed creatures' and criticised for not staying at home taking care of domestic duties. But the women of the pits fought back. They had worked underground until banned, then on the pit brows doing vital work for the coal industry. They were often vilified for working alongside men, but they carried on, for three centuries they carried on.
Then everyone forgot them. Now they have been brought back to life.
Norena Shopland is an author and historian, specialising in researching and writing about Welsh history. She was awarded an honorary degree from the Open University for raising awareness of diversity in Wales. Norena writes a monthly column on Welsh history for the online news service Nation Cymru.
