Role and focus of the APG on Carers
The All Party Group (APG) on Carers brings together MLAs from across political parties to raise awareness of the role of unpaid carers in Northern Ireland and ensure public policy from all Executive Departments positively impacts on their lives.
The APG was first established in January 2021 and was reconstituted in June 2022 following the Northern Ireland Assembly election.
So far in this Assembly mandate, the APG has focused on access to day services and respite support for unpaid carers, as well as policy issues like the impact of the cost of living crisis on our carer population and the social care reform process.
